Warangal city is the combination of warangal, hanmakonda and kazipet areas and nicknamed as Tri-city. It serves as administrative headquarters of warangal district.

Warangal Fort

Warangal fort was constructed by King Ganapati Deva in 13th century. The fort was made as his second capital. The fort holds a temple of Swayambhudevi, Mother Earth. The fort being invincible was called the seat of power. The main fort consists of 45 towers with an entrance built in South Indian architectural style. The main attractions are it's arches and the carved pillars. The fort is in ruins but still provides centre for conducting an interesting study that helps in research of ancient history and sculptures.


 Thousand Pillar Temple

Thousand Pillar Temple was constructed in 12th century. The temple is located near Hanamkonda-Warangal highway. The construction is influenced by Kakatiyan architectural style. It is dedicated to three gods namely Shiva, Surya and Vishnu. The temple's thousand pillars are uniquely adorned and carved. Rock cut elephants and the exquisite stonework add beauty to the temple. Excellent sculptures carved holds the main attraction.

 Pakhal Lake

Pakhal Lake is a man made lake with an area of 30 sq.km. It is said to have been constructed during 1213 AD. The lake is situated amidst lush forests and hilly terrain.The lake has attraction i.e, Pakhal Wildlife Sanctuary, which is bordered along the shorelines of the lake. A wide range of plants and animals offers a breathtaking view.

The village Eturnagaram is a heart throbbing place in Warangal amidst dense forest. It is bordered with river Godavari running closely.various different species of rare animals can be found in one of the earliest sanctuaries established in the country.  Kakatiya Rock Garden

Kakatiya Musical Garden is spread over 15 acres and situated near Bhadrakali temple. The garden attracts tourists . The musical fountain offers a visual feast. The musical fountain and boating are the star attractions here. The artificial waterfall with the fountain is awe-inspiring.
 Bhadrakali Temple
Bhadrakali Temple it is among the oldest temples constructed for Goddess Bhadrakali. It belongs to 8th century.The idol of Goddess Kali is is situated on a hill. The ancient temple was built during the reign of Kakatiya Dynasty which bears the influence of Chalukya architectural style. There are rock formations that were naturally formed around the temple. They make the place more attractive.

 Ramappa Lake
Ramappa Lake It was constructed by Kakatiya rulers. It is located near Ramappa temple.The picturesque lake is spread across 82 sq. kms. It consists of hill ranges at the backdrop. The whole view is spectacular and worthseeing. The lake offers boating facilities. It also provides place to walk peacefully. The lake offers a spectacular view thereby attracting visitors.
